Manager of Communications for Orano Canada, Véronique Loewen, will be attending and speaking at our upcoming Saskatoon PowHERlunch on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Véronique is a former mentor in The Betty-Ann Heggie Womentorship Program at Edwards School of Business and a current mentor in the Women in Mining and Women in Nuclear of Saskatchewan’s Mine Your Potential Mentorship Program and part of this program’s development committee.

Véronique Loewen is Manager, Communications for Orano Canada (formerly AREVA), a world leader in uranium exploration, mining and milling, with major operations in northern Saskatchewan.

At Orano, Véronique develops, implements and evaluates communications and stakeholders engagement strategies and programs. She also manages community investment initiatives for Saskatoon and area. Aside from her work with Orano, Veronique is also the owner of Verolingo Communications providing English-French translation, writing and editing and strategic communications planning services.

Véronique is a member of the board of directors of the crown corporation SaskEnergy and a member of the Saskatchewan Mining Association’s Public Affairs Committee. She is a founding member and past co-chair of Women in Mining / Women in Nuclear Saskatchewan. She is a board member of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatchewan.

Véronique was the recipient of the 2017 YWCA of Saskatoon’s Women of Distinction Award in Leadership and Professions and of the Women in Nuclear Canada 2017 Leadership Award.

Véronique graduated from Paul Valéry University in Montpellier, France with a BA and MA in Applied Foreign Languages. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. She is an accredited Communication Management Professional from the Global Communication Certification Council.
