Hooked On Plants

Julia Murray | plant-based dietOne thing that we are all capable of doing that will do wonders for our health + help the planet + save animals’ lives, is to adopt a whole-food, plant-based diet.

Plants are packed with nutrients, fibre, water, phytonutrients, nutritious carbohydrates, amino acids, omegas and rich flavour.  There are countless ways to eat plants.  And no, we aren’t just talking about lettuce and brussels sprouts; we’re talking a vast array of plants:  grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, tubers, nuts and seeds.  Everything under the sun except animals and animal products (meat, dairy, eggs).

I now have a new-found passion for living a plant-based lifestyle and experiencing all the benefits that come with it, including exciting new recipes, the energy it brings, and the positivity it provides to our planet and the animals we inhabit it with.  To share all of this inspiration and knowledge plus delicious plant-based recipes, I’ve launched a new food blog and Instagram, Hooked On Plants.

  • I’ll be creating recipes and inspiration in the kitchen and sharing them with all of you to help you become more conscious of what you are putting in your body and where it is coming from.
  • This is an extension of my breakfast cereal, Jules Fuel, because healthy eating doesn’t stop at breakfast.  Being healthy and compassionate is a consistent, exciting lifestyle that will give you longevity, vitality, clear skin and your ideal weight (if you don’t overdo it on the overt fats or vegan junk food).

Here’s a simple little recipe that boosts my breakfast cereal, Jules Fuel to a whole other level.

6 servings

Ingredients:

2 bananas

1 tbsp molasses

1 bag Jules Fuel

2 cups water

Directions:

Mash 2 bananas in a pot.  Mix in molasses.  Pour in Jules Fuel and water and stir.

Bring to a boil, stir once more.  Simmer for 10 minutes.

Eat it hot with your favourite fresh fruit on top.

Store the leftovers in the fridge for future morning meal solutions!

Bananas are packed with potassium, vitamin B6 and soothe your digestion.  Molasses is packed with minerals to help your hair and nails grow.  Jules Fuel is packed with superfoods like quinoa, chia, flax and goji berries to give you sustained energy and a variety of amino acids, omegas and antioxidants to help you stay young forever!
