Today I run… If you can pray for another, you can run for another.

Day 3:  August 23rd FIRMA Energywear 30-Day Firm-Up Challenge

Sweat in my eyes.  I don’t know how many little flies I’ve eaten.  It’s hot beyond belief.  My legs are heavy… and so I run.

roof top - resizedI run today for three very special women.  This morning as I chose my music and began my running app, I quietly dedicated my workout to three women who I want to lift up.  I believe that when you are moving your body, using your breath, dedicating your focus and setting a genuine intention… you are cultivating positive energy and power (powHER!) that is meant to be shared.

If you can pray for another, you can run for another.

Why run?  It’s not about me.  It’s about US… all women who need to be lifted up, inspired, motivated, honoured, respected and empowered.  Women who need to be shown – through ACTION (not just empty words, special offers or advertisements) that they are enough, they do belong and they are worthy.  Women who are still grasping at external means or factors to feel better about themselves when the answer is right here, right now, within, lungs pounding, breathing deeply, centred, grounded, focused and powHERful.

My friend Steely has a saying, “#empower2empower, #lift2lift“.  This morning, she is one of the women I have dedicated my run to.  We continually strengthen ourselves in order to be able to empower others to do the same.  This girl has a powHERful message and so much potential to do so much good.

I dedicate my run to Julie Millier who is embarking on her final month of training before racing on September 21st, when she will represent Canada at the 2014 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Weihai, China.  My little 45-minute run is nothing compared to what she is facing over the next month.  I so admire her dedication, consistency and message.  #run2soar

And finally, I dedicate my run to a women from White Rock that I only know by name and through mutual friends.  She recently lost her husband and soul mate.  I can not imagine what that feels like.  It would rip my heart out.  I know she needs every bit of positive energy that we can muster up for her.  With every step of my run and every breath, I’m sending her love and strength.

Day 3 - 30 Day ChallengeThere’s so much we can do through fitness if we’d only open our hearts to the possibilities and allow our bodies to move.

Thank you to Holy Crap cereal for fueling my run today!  It’s so important to be prepared with powHERfuel no matter where you are.

Check out my post-run workout for an upper body, core and stretch session (20-minutes) that is the perfect partner for a good 40-minute run (walk/run or powerwalk).

#lift2lift   #run2soar  #powHERhouse
