First things first, you need to plan out your week. Keep it simple but have a plan.
Check out these Personal Vibrancy Lifestyle Habits – they work.
Every week get into the habit of preparing food. On Sundays (that’s what works for me), I do my grocery shopping and set out to make two or three protein-based meals that I can keep in the fridge or freezer to get me through the week. They might include chicken, turkey, patties, a meatloaf, quiche, chilli – you name it!
I’ve gotten into the ritual of checking my local grocer’s flyer (Thank you, Marketplace IGA!) to see what’s on sale for the week that fits into my planning. This week it was chicken, fish, broccoli, cauliflower and apples. That way I’m saving money while I’m taking care of fueling my body properly – and that makes me feel great!
While you’re out shopping, you will also want to pick up a minimum of three staples or ‘quick grabs’ to help your lean-eating be as easy and successful as possible. My staples at this time are 0% plain Greek yogurt which I mix with protein powder, a sprinkle of Skinny B by Holy Crap Cereal and fruit for my afternoon snack, Simply Bars by Wellness Foods (always!) and multi-grain WASA crisp bread which I have with low-fat cottage cheese or egg salad.
Now you may be wondering how all of this fits into my overall plan, and I’ll be sharing more of that week-by-week as we head into ‘Spring Training‘ (April-May-June) with some fairly ambitious goals and lots of fun upcoming events. It’s not that the info isn’t out there because IT IS.
Our goal is to help you break it down as simply and sensibly as possible so you can start to IMPLEMENT it into your daily PRACTICE.
It’s the Practice of PowHERful Living!
