Creating Peak Performance in Sport and Beyond
PowHERtalks Nanaimo Featured Speaker Announcement

Jody Jackson, B.P.E., B.Ed. LPGA T & CP

PowHERtalks Nanaimo | Jody Jackson | Events“I aim to nurture the unification of body, mind and emotions and enlist your spirit or drive within, to reach new heights in your ‘game’.”

Being PowHERful is like creating peak performance in sport, it demands the unparalleled union of the whole self:
1/ physical, 2/ mental, 3/ emotional and 4/ spiritual.

Over the past 27 years, I have dedicated my education, along with my professional and personal development, to understanding the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual characteristics that contribute to creating peak performance.

My coursework in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Studies focused primarily on the body and enhanced my ability to teach, coach and train others in maintaining wellness or achieving their athletic goals.

After completing my B.P.E., I enrolled in the Faculty of Education. I had learned all about the body, the next step was to research and explore the thinking human being – the mind. My coursework focused on Educational Psychology where I discovered the intricacies of human behavior and learning styles. Out of this came my belief in the Humanistic Theory.

Thereafter, I steered my learning into the realm of the human spirit. This part of the journey took me to India, where I studied yoga and meditation. I discovered the benefits of quieting the mind, steadying the body and came away more knowledgeable and confident in understanding the plight of the human spirit.

Most recently, we have seen a surge in information on how emotions factor into creating excellence, with extensive studies in neurophysiology supporting the way. Therefore, over the past couple years I have certified with Six SecondsTM, the largest organization dedicated to the development of emotional intelligence (EQ) using scientifically validated tools and methods to increase the people-side of performance.

In my PowHERtalk, I intend to:

  1. Bring insight into how the four elements unite to make up the
    whole;
  2. Provide a quick and easy tool so that you are able to self-assess moment by moment; and,
  3. Shed some light on building the capacity to elicit peak performance on demand.

Whether you are seeking a better career expression, home life or sport performance, I am certain the information provided to you on October 24th at PowHERtalks Nanaimo will be beneficial to you and yours. I look forward to seeing you there!
