“All of us want to be powerful and successful. But if our drive to get and maintain power drains us and strains our relationships, we never truly enjoy our professional or material success and it’s simply not worth it. Living our life deeply and with happiness, having time to care for our loved ones – this is another kind of success, another kind of power, and it is much more important.” – Thich Nhat Hahn, The Art of Power
I recently read the amazing work of Thich N. Hahn. It was this paragraph that really landed for me. I pondered, pondered and pondered further greatly interested in what this respected author, poet and peace activist had to say on the subject of power – the very thing that has been my passion for years. But power from a different place, which is why I refer to it as ‘powHER‘ in my company’s name, “PowHERhouse“.
