The Mighty Pumpkin for Your Beauty Regime

pumpkin-pyramid1Autumn is an amazing time of year, not only because our bodies are preparing for cozy times ahead but also because all the amazing Fall aromas and flavours that we crave can be used as scrubs, masks and more!

Take the mighty pumpkin, for example. It is one of my favorite skin-nourishing autumn fruits.  Pumpkins are rich in vitamins A, C, E & T, as well as enzymes that dissolve dry skin cells. This makes pumpkin the go-to fruit for hydrating, fighting inflammation, promoting new cell production and  reversing damage caused by the sun.

The next time you open a pumpkin for pies or decoration, put a little aside for your own natural, at-home pumpkin perfect facial masque! Here’s my favorite recipe…

pumpkin mixIngredients:

1 small pumpkin

1/4 cup honey

Directions:

Bake and remove the skin & seeds from the pumpkin.  Let cool. Transfer to a blender or food processor and puree, then add the honey and mix again.  Transfer to a sterile, sealable container & store in the refrigerator.  To use, apply the cool mixture to the face, leave on for at least 20 minutes, rinse & pat dry.

So get inspired by Fall’s colors, smells and tastes and integrate them into your beauty regime!
