GATHER with Margie Sills-Maerov
Walking The Path of Whole Leadership in Healthcare and Beyond
GATHER is a community of Indigenous and non-Indigenous changemakers coming together on a consistent basis to learn, heal, and grow - together - and a digital storytelling platform that tracks these raw, real, and authentic conversations and tells the story of the wisdom gathered for a purpose throughout this individual and collective journey of expansion.
WHO is Margie Sills-Maerov?
Margie is the leader, business lead, and the visionary behind Thought Architects - a collaboration of skilled thinkers and doers who aim to make abstract concepts around culture tangible. She grew up in health care and has worked at all levels of the health system. Along the way she picked up expertise in clinical and process improvement, facilitation, leadership & team development, human-centred design, and coaching. She has her own "Campfire Chats", and this marks the first time that she is on the other side of the microphone! Besides being a boy mom to three, she also holds a couple of other roles as the Education Program Officer at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Medicine and the Program Coordinator for the Coalition for Physician Learning and Practice Improvement. She works hard but enjoys her free time - either on her bike or on skis (and will happily have a meeting on the mountain with you).

Why is this conversation important?
There are so many little things that people can do to make workplaces more human: give thought to agendas, consider how to create equal opportunity for voice, find ways that everyone feels included and heard. But this all starts with how you view the world. Do you approach meetings as times for you to share your wisdom or as a way to tap into the wisdom of others?
