GATHER with Deb Alcadinho
Her Leadership Lane: Bringing Impact Ideas to Fruition Faster with Collaboration, Voice, Vision and Heart
GATHER is a community of Indigenous and non-Indigenous changemakers coming together on a consistent basis to learn, heal, and grow - together - and a digital storytelling platform that tracks these raw, real, and authentic conversations and tells the story of the wisdom gathered for a purpose throughout this individual and collective journey of expansion.
WHO is Deb Alcadinho?
Deb is passionate about helping to create a better world - social impact is close to her heart.
Her serial entrepreneurship started when she was ten years old as a little prairie girl. Raised to be fiercely independent and financially self-reliant, she took that to heart. In the four decades to follow, Deb owned seven more small business ventures in a variety of business sectors, while raising a family of three boys and working full-time.
With decades of experience working in media and marketing, along with serial entrepreneurship, and being a sales and marketing graduate, Deb has the gifts to help women lead their companies with impact using voice, vision, and heart. Her company, Business 4 Social Good, sparks Social Impact in Canadian female-owned companies to help them define the impact they desire, so they can make a difference in their community and in the lives of Canadians. We all want to ‘do well by doing good’
Deb is also the CEO of Westshore Women's Business Network, a business organization in Victoria BC, Canada, serving businesswomen with connections, tools and resources to grow their business and build their network.
When Deb is not working, you'll find her in the forest or by the ocean, soaking up all of nature's gifts and bringing them to life in photography or on the dinner table gathering family or friends.
Why is this conversation important?
If business owners don't use their voice, vision and heart to create their social impact roadmap, they will be left behind. Now is the time for business owners to start integrating social impact into their businesses; research has indicated consumers are demanding this from the brands they love and support, and employees are seeking meaning beyond their pay cheque.
The social, economic, environmental, and humanitarian issues we face in Canada are all represented in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These are not developing nation's problems, they are ours too. We need to see the needs in our Canadian communities and work towards making the world a better place, starting with Canada.
Canadian female business owners will change the face of social impact in the next decade. Deb feels a great sense of urgency to take her social impact training to Canadian female business owners, so they can create social purpose and their social impact roadmap.
"There's no better time than NOW for social impact and by braiding for impact, we can make greater impact TOGETHER. We have an enormous opportunity to seize this moment in time, while the world is ready for a new narrative, to create change by working together. Because we truly are 'better and stronger together'."

Want to be Hands at Her Back?
- Deb's ask and desire is to bring her social impact training to the awareness of Canadian female business owners, so they can use their voice, vision and heart to make an impact in their communities. Thereby helping to solve some of Canada's most pressing social, humanitarian and environmental challenges in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Deb is in the development stage of a web-based (not app) software development of custom-designed reporting software for businesses and non-profits. She needs to secure funding and connect with a web-based software developer to support this initiative.
