About Foundry Surrey

Our Vision: We are a safe and inclusive place where young people and families find flexible, accessible, non-judgmental support and care to meet their needs.

Foundry Surrey is a place where young people and families in Surrey can go when they need help, are in crisis  or simply need a safe place to belong.  At Foundry Surrey, our doors are open without a referral, and we are free of charge for youth aged 12 - 24 and families to get what they need when they need it.

Pacific Community Resource Society (PCRS) is the lead agency selected to develop and operate Foundry Surrey.

Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) has a 39-year history of providing a breadth of quality, accredited social services across British Columbia including: education, employment, housing, substance use, mental health, and youth aged 12 - 24 and family support services.

In 2020, Pacific Community Resources Society was selected to join Foundry BC’s provincial network. As the lead agency, PCRS has undertaken the responsibility to develop and operate Foundry Surrey. This space, opening in 2024, is a welcoming wellness centre designed for youth by youth to meet their unique needs.

“I love working with people, and I feel very, very privileged to work with folks who are in a place of change in their lives. It is a privilege to work with them, to respect where they are, knowing they might not be comfortable in that place.”

- Jen Lowrey, Manager Foundry Surrey

At Foundry Surrey, youth and families will get help early – in their home community – before life’s challenges compound. Youth will come from a wide range of life circumstances and be supported because they can access Foundry independently and on their own terms.

Foundry Surrey is a community-based project with support from many local partners. Community partnerships and collaboration will continue to be the heartbeat of Foundry Surrey as we work towards developing a trauma-informed and responsive model of care for young people in Surrey.

Once Foundry Surrey opens its doors, concerned teachers, friends and family members will know where they can send a young person to get information, access a range of resources and safe, non-judgmental care without long waitlists.

Other Foundry Centres:

PCRS has received partial capital funding to develop the centre soon to be located at 10280 City Parkway in the heart of Surrey downtown with direct access to the Surrey Central Skytrain Station and major bus loops and neighbouring Central City Mall, City Centre Library, Holland Park, university campuses, shops, restaurants and many other public amenities.

Construction is currently underway and the centre is slated to open in late 2024.

Thanks to the support of our generous funding partners, PCRS is in the final stage of our capital campaign with only $2 million remaining to go. A community giving campaign is currently underway to raise the remaining funds required to bring Foundry to Surrey.

You can learn more about PCRS here.

“Surrey has a history of working together to meet the needs of young people. When we developed our community leadership table to bring Foundry to Surrey, we had 52 different partners come to those meetings. Surrey has a really strong foundation of partnerships to implement the Foundry model.”
