Dancing between Short-Term Stability and Innovation for Generational Impact | 2024 Traction Impact Report and 2025 Areas of Focus
2024 has been a dance between establishing short-term stability for reGEN and our continued commitment to inclusive innovation, building an alternative media-tech-health framework for regenerative media.
My definition of regenerative media is:
Media that connects us with the very best parts of ourselves instead of taking us further away from it.
We're happy to share a summary of our 2024 traction and 2025 areas of focus.
2024 Traction and Impact Report
reGEN named 2024 Coralus Venture | Earlier this Spring, reGEN was named a 2024 Coralus Venture. This opportunity means a no-interest loan to continue to build our venture, business coaching, and access to a supportive global community of Coralus ventures and activators. You can watch the announcement here (16:55).
reGEN invited to pitch at the Yale Innovation Summit | A highlight of our year was being invited to pitch at the Yale Innovation Summit the end of May. What an exceptionally inspiring experience to be amongst innovators from across the globe working on solutions in health, tech, climate, and the arts. We are proud that reGEN's work intersects three of these four pillars, and we believe that better media results in better habits and better decisions which will ultimately create solutions in climate resiliency as we heal from our roots. You can watch reGEN's pitch at the Yale Innovation Summit here.
reGEN's Theory of Change Updates and reGEN StoryHub Wire Frame Now Underway | Earlier this year, reGEN received innovation funding from the Canada Council for the Arts. This funding allowed us to move these specific projects forward. We are pleased to share our updated Theory of Change with you now. It walks you through our vision over the next 10 years yielding generational impact.
2025 to 2035 10-Year Vision
Where do we go from here?
Establishing Short-Term Revenue Streams | As reGEN continues to build into our 10-year vision as outlined above, we are also working to establish stability in our short-term revenue. In 2024, we were proud to establish additional revenue streams in the following areas:
- Facilitation: Impact Visioning Circles: reGEN was proud to work with teams in academic research & climate resiliency, regional economic development, and Indigenous community empowerment (global NGO) to build more clarity, cohesion, and connection to move their impact vision forward.
- Impact Narrative Development & Digital Storytelling: We were proud to walk beside some of these same teams it play a role in impact storytelling and narrative development. We were proud to produce a mini-documentary for a respect family foundation and look forward to sharing that when it is available to the public.
- Regenerative Creation Cohort: Our second year of the reGEN cohort has now completed with another 14 regenerative creators now added to our growing alumni. We are very proud of this online program and the results and testimonials it is receiving. Our next cohort begins in early March 2025.
- Story of Us digital magazine: Our fourth seasonal issue of The Story of Us interactive magazine will be published in February 2025. We're proud of the early traction to date of this publication. It plays an important role to bring awareness, education, and amplification to the emerging sector of regenerative media. It is a communications vehicle that we can build an audience and partnerships around now while the reGEN StoryHub platform is in early development. In the future, we envision a seamless flow between the magazine, our website and StoryCenter youtube channel (fully accessible) and the reGEN StoryHub (accessible with additional options for premium members).
Short-Term Projects that Walk the Talk | We use a hefty amount of discernment when deciding which creative projects we want to collaborate on in any given year as any project work takes time, focus, and attention away from building the reGEN framework. However, we are incredibly proud of the following projects we completed this year and wanted to share them with you.
Limited Podcast Series, In Conversation with Kukpi7 Wenecwtsin | It was a pleasure to walk beside my mentor and friend, Wayne Christian to complete a limited podcast series this year and an accompanying healing journal. Thanks to funding from the First People's Cultural Council, this important knowledge transfer and knowledge mobilization project was completed. I also had the opportunity to share a half-day workshop with the women of Splatsin, my home nation, on creative expression as a vehicle for healing. It was a very special day, and deep gratitude to Samantha Panter, one of our cultural advisors at reGEN for her guidance and support.
EveryDay Guy, Helping Young Men and Men in Mid-life Live their Best Lives! | Our family legacy project at The Goliath Foundation continues to make an impact. After Ben and Willow completed over 80 episodes of the Loving Goliath podcast series, they began to work on the EveryDay Guy interactive journal. It's always been very important to our family to create engagement and meet young men where they're at - on their phones! You can view a small sample of the interactive journal here and subscribe to the EveryDay Guy website to receive notifications when it is launched in January! In 2025, we'll be working on various partnership opportunities to distribute and deliver the journal to a wide cross-section of guys who could really benefit from it.
2025 AREAS OF FOCUS - Growing Monthly Recurring Revenue Effortlessly, Relational Investing, and Community-Based Crowdfunding!
Growing Our MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), Effortlessly | In 2025, we are excited to launch a number of initiatives that will consistently build our monthly recurring revenue without an excessive amount of time, energy, or resources on our team:
- Speak 2.0 Global relaunch: We are bringing a proven PowHERhouse online program back for women leaders, changemakers, artists, founders, and entrepreneurs. In 2025, we will be securing SPEAK champions and ambassadors worldwide who are interested to collaborate and resell our program.
- Additional Courses & Programs: We have two other courses to launch this year. One is a co-learning opportunity in relational investing and the other in impact-first storytelling. We are currently looking for aligned academic and association partners to collaborate with as well as preparing to launch them online as evergreen learning opportunities.
- PowHER 2025! We are excited to announce a couple of timely events and key partnerships in 2025 that will tie-in well with our crowdfunding goals below.
- The PowHERhouse Playbook: We will publish a 52-week possibilities planner in April 2025 and an accompanying merchandise offering.
- Soulstamp Collection Series: A unique selection of spiritual growth online offerings and merchandise will be released on 2025.
Relational Investing and Community-Based Crowdfunding while Onboarding Early-Adopter Customers, Founding Premium Members, and Proving Product-Market Fit | In 2025, reGEN will revolutionize crowdfunding by fostering connections, aligning values, and mobilizing communities to drive impact in the space we engage with over seven hours daily. Planning and development for this campaign will take place January to March with our campaign launching early April until mid-June. We are planning to work with an experienced crowdfunding manager for this initiative with a proven track record. We look forward to sharing more information in the coming months. See below for further details.
In the Brew of Possibilities
PowHERhouse Publishing | PowHERhouse continues to explore conversations with various publishing houses to bring a unique niche brand imprint to the market to support untold stories of historically underrecognized voices. Stay tuned! We are hopeful that the PowHERhouse Playbook will be under our own publishing brand.
reGEN StoryCenter Micro Studio | As described in our Theory of Change, we are committed to developing a micro studio prototype. We will engage various funders in the space of rural community economic development, Indigenous economic reconciliation, creative business, and more to support the build out of our prototype in Gibsons, BC.
One External Opportunity | An external opportunity is currently circling in the area of Indigenous Innovation. I have been recommended to learn more about this opportunity. Much like my time on Gibsons Town Council, if this temporary opportunity is meant to be a situation that I am called to lead in, all of the plans and possibilities outlined above will continue. I've focused on surrounding myself with a strong core team of creatives and advisors this year and feel well-prepared if an external opportunity presents itself on a short-term basis.
IN SUMMARY, THE DANCE CONTINUES!
It has been quite a year. There have been more challenges, pivots, lessons, opportunities, growth, expansion, tears, healing, and laughter too. What we have experienced in this year is a microcosm of what we are experiencing at this time on a global level. I try to remember that and stay grounded, committed, and as playful as possible along this journey!
My Biggest 2024 Learnings as a Visionary Founder: Change Happens When We Present Alternatives with Elevated Possibility!

One of my biggest learnings this year was related to finances and funding - my biggest teacher during these early-revenue years for reGEN.
Early in 2024, I worked with a trusted advisor and business strategist who has supported me for many years to apply for entrepreneurial funding from a government-funded organization for women entrepreneurs. This same organization funded me in the past; a business loan that I completely fulfilled on with a solid track record many years ago. After spending hours and resources to prepare my application, I was frustrated to learn that I didn't meet their financial requirements - due diligence review process, match up to their pre-determined ratios, or satisfy their appetite for risk (or lack of it). Even though I am a former client with a proven track record, the type of financing I was in need of to move my business forward this year, as an experienced founder wasn't available to me. As a result, I've had to juggle more than I'd like to admit and quite unnecessarily.
We say that we want to support more innovation, next-level entrepreneurship, diverse founders. We say that we want to re-imagine capitalism, fuel economic reconciliation, and set a new standard, but are we ready to act on it?
"Truly inclusion innovation with generational impact will only happen when we redefine our risk tolerance."
I've dedicated to taking matters into my own hands. Rather than trying to fit into tiny check boxes that say they promote innovation and diversity, I've created my own with a relational investing opportunity and community-driven crowdfunding campaign that will launch early in the New Year. You will see more info and an ASK below.
A note to those who finance women founders: If you are doing things the way you've done them for 25 years and expecting different results, it might be time to review your policies and process.
This past year has also been a rebuild for PowHERhouse and our team. Approximately 18 months ago, I parted ways with the leader I had hired to run PowHERhouse. It was a mutual agreement based on a number of factors. It hasn't been easy to juggle both companies this year, but I'm proud to say that we've made it through the year.
We're not out of the woods yet, but we're getting there. I learned some tough lessons as a founder who hired someone to run my company, and I'm stronger for it now. PowHERhouse is an incredibly important companion to reGEN, and the importance of how they work together and play off of each other will become even more apparent over the next 12-24 months.
