Marcela Mandeville

CEO, Alberta Women Entrepreneurs

Marcela has explored the world of business through a globally-focused business undergraduate degree, designation as a Certified International Trade Professional and more than fifteen years of global experience developing and implementing business strategies.

Marcela’s business experience in Canada and abroad led her to Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in 2008. As Chief Operating Officer, she developed programs to support access to local and international business opportunities for women entrepreneurs. After leaving AWE in August 2013 Marcela resumed her role as CEO of her own business consulting firm, Bright Idea International and completed her MBA studies at the University of Alberta. In July 2015, Marcela returned to AWE to work with an amazing team after time spent leading her own business, volunteering and travelling in Central and South America, and exploring beautiful beaches and the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southern California.

Marcela believes strongly in continuous learning and contributing to the community. She serves on the YESS and EEDC Board of Directors, is a member of the AIESEC Edmonton Advisory Board and is a former Director on the Alberta Innovates Board and former Board Chair for Literacy without Borders.

Fiona L. Macdonald

Director, GMP Capital

Fiona is a Director on the Board of GMP Capital, a publicly traded investment dealer and wealth management company. She is Chair of the Management Resources & Compensation Committee, and a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee and the Audit Committee.

Fiona is a Director on the BC Ferry Authority, the shareholder of BC Ferry Services, which operates one of the largest ferry fleets in the world with annual revenue above $900 million.

Fiona is a Director of the Royal Canadian Mint, where she is Chair of the Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety Committee. The Mint is responsible for Canadian coin circulation, Foreign Circulation, Bullion Products and Services and Numismatics.

Fiona is the Chair of the BC Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Fiona had a successful career in professional services, building respected and profitable consulting practices in Canada and the US. For the last 20 years as a consultant, Fiona was with what is now Willis Towers Watson where she led their Executive Compensation practices for Canada and the Western US. Fiona has been based in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver.
Fiona has a BA and MBA, both from the University of British Columbia, and holds the ICD.D designation
Jay Ann Gilfoy

Jay-Ann Gilfoy

CEO, Vancity Community Investment Bank

Jay-Ann is joining VCIB after nearly four years in senior leadership roles at Vancity credit union, most recently as senior vice-president of digital solutions and business technology.

While at Vancity, Jay-Ann led the development and implementation of a new core banking system, the first milestone of the credit union’s technology road map and a foundational element in the organization's commitment to better serve its members. She also provided strategic oversight to digital literacy, core technology infrastructure, technology solutions, digital products and fin-tech partnerships working on the strategy to connect financial services and impact onto a digital platform.

Jay-Ann is passionate about finding ways to bring new values based approaches to financial services to life, developing people and fostering a work environment that encourages employees to learn, grow and excel.

Originally from Toronto, Jay-Ann brings more than 15 years’ experience as a senior executive. She draws on a wealth of transformation and change management expertise from previous roles in Crown, private and municipal organizations including the B.C. Lottery Corporation and Coast Capital Savings where she served as the Chief Transformation Officer. During her time at Coast Capital, Jay-Ann created an innovative human resources plan that significantly increased employee engagement results, and redesigned the executive suite for improved governance.
