beauty habitsI think we’ve all had enough of the snow this winter, so with Spring just around the corner, I say, “Let It Glow” now.

As you think about shedding those winter layers, putting away the heavy coats and sweaters, let’s also think about shedding those dull layers off our skin as well.

We know the harsh winter elements can be very drying on our skin, so as the weather warms up it’s time to brighten up and bring back that healthy glow.

The best way to freshen up your look this Spring is to start with beautiful skin.

I know we’re all full-to-the-brim, on-the-go PowHERhouse women, so just keep it simple:  A good cleanse, moisturize, and exfoliate 2-3 times a week.

No need to break the bank, there are many amazing products you can find right at your local drug store or health food store.  I like to use creams and natural oils like Jojoba oil, Argan oil, and GLA oil.  I switch it up every now and then depending on what my skin is doing.

Desiree Ellis | beauty habits for healthy skinAlong with a good cleanse, exfoliating 2-3 times a week is good for opening up your pores and getting rid of impurities.  Use one that’s gentle on your skin.  My current favorite that I’m using right now is the Burt’s Bees deep pore scrub –  it’s gentle, and I like the silky feel it leaves on my skin.  Also do a hydrating face mask at least once a week as it is a good way to moisturize and brighten the skin.

When looking for products, I try to choose ones that contain Hyaluronic Acid.  It is very hydrating and helps hold moisture in the skin.  Whatever products you choose, make sure they are right for your skin type.

REMEMBER:  The best ingredient and #1 Health Habit you can do for you skin is to drink PLENTY of water.

So shine, Beautiful.
