Kelly Beattie

Integrator of People and Process, Transformational Change Agent, Coach and Speaker, PowHERhouse Amplify Instructor

Kelly Beattie is the founder of Beyond Connections and is part of the PowHERhouse Amplify Relational Leadership Coaching team. Kelly is a heart-centred relational leader who believes that business improvement begins with the people. She is driven by a firm belief that each individual in their own way wants to be part of something bigger than themselves, and that organizations are made up of people like you and me who want to be involved and want to feel valued.

She helps businesses by integrating people and their processes. She thrives working with teams and leaders as they overcome challenges together and create solutions that align with their specific needs and goals. When working within an organization, she is often called on to ensure the unique skills of each team member are integrated into new policies, procedures and recruitment efforts, and she helps new leaders understand their own value.

Kelly has an innate desire to help organizations build their capacity to perform and succeed. She sees herself and everyone she works with as a change agent for tomorrow. She is part of the transition of transparent leadership, a process driven approach to change, and working collaboratively in co-creation for sustainable process improvements while uniting organizational culture.

She calls Kipling, Saskatchewan her home where she has raised two young adults, both leaders in their own rights, on Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the nêhiyawak (Cree), Anihšināpēk (Saulteaux), Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation.

Kelly's Ancestral Story

Kelly is a descendant of immigrant families from Germany and France and grew up on a third generation family farm in Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan where she learned an appreciation of the lands and the value of family and community. As a longtime leader in PowHERhouse, she is grateful to learn from Indigenous ancestral knowledge. She is in the beginning days of bringing forward her own ancestral story and is thankful for the path forward illuminated by her Indigenous circle of guides in the house. Kelly calls Kipling, Saskatchewan her home where she has raised two young adults, both leaders in their own rights, on Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the nêhiyawak (Cree), Anihšināpēk (Saulteaux), Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation.

Kelly has been blessed to spend a portion of her career in partnership, learning from members of the Indigenous community and entrusted with passing along knowledge through education to 2500+ individuals in healthcare.  This teaching was purposeful in creating an understanding about myths, misconceptions and history of our Indigenous Peoples to create an understanding and empathy of others to improve working relationships, employment and service provision.

“When you know your whole self, you know and live your values. This becomes your guide. Know who you are. All of our pieces are what we contribute as gifts. So often we are stuck on our title, but a title doesn’t communicate someone’s essence or impact. Think about changemaking processes, if you want to facilitate growth, then see yourself and your team through their gifts.”
